At tritonX, we often focus on the existing customer base. Under the umbrella of customer retention, we frequently explain the importance of focusing on current customers. After all, it’s more cost-effective and efficient to focus on the customers you already have. However, in order to focus on an existing customer base, you first need to gather them. That’s why in this blog, we discuss our (improved) methods for effectively registering customers through the Offline Onboarding module.
Previously, we wrote a blog explaining our newest module, Offline Onboarding (OO), in detail. In this learning, we’ll delve deeper into a specific case where this module is combined with other TritonX modules: Offline Onboarding combined with Event Based Rewarding (EBR).
Event Based Rewarding
As the name suggests, the Event Based Rewarding module allows you to reward customers based on specific events. With this module, you have the ability to reward customers after they’ve completed a certain action or event. This gives you the chance to encourage customers to take action. For example: “Buy this weekend and earn extra reward points!”, “Complete your profile and receive a coupon!”, or “Every new customer gets a welcome gift!” In this blog, we’ll focus on the latter ‘event.’
The welcome gift
Offering a welcome gift is a great trigger for registering customers. We want to give TritonX users more options when it comes to registering new customers. When setting up an event for new profiles, this event will be activated for each new profile, whether the registration is done offline or online. By linking Offline Onboarding with Event Based Rewarding, it’s possible to associate a location with an event. This creates many opportunities to reward your customers or specific customer groups.
Examples of offline registrations
Below are three examples that demonstrate the possibilities of offline registrations via TritonX.
Registering Customers for Purchase
Saturdays in stores can be incredibly busy. So busy that there may be little time or space for the cashier to carefully register new customers. With Offline Onboarding, you can delegate this registration process from the cashier. Place a digitally or printed QR code generated by Offline Onboarding in the store. When a visitor scans it, they’ll be taken to a registration page where they can create their account. When the customer later reaches the cashier, their account will be easily accessible, and purchases can be linked to the account. Want to thank the customer for creating an account via the QR code? TritonX allows you to easily link a reward through Event Based Rewarding.
Registering Members at Sports Clubs
A collaboration with sports clubs can be easily set up by activating a unique QR code per sports organization. Members can onboard through this QR code, and with Event Based Rewarding, they can immediately benefit from pre-arranged pricing agreements. Want an extra level of verification for the organization? It’s possible to set up a password verification process.
Collaborating with External Companies
You’re probably familiar with cross-selling actions where, after buying a pair of shoes, you receive a flyer offering a discount if you sign up at a perfume shop. You want to ensure that only the people who sign up using that flyer receive the discount. This can also be easily arranged with the combination of Offline Onboarding and Event Based Rewarding. Create a QR code with specific EBR rewards and print it on the flyer. By adding an extension label to this action, you can analyze the purchasing behavior of this customer group afterward. It’s a win-win!
Conclusion
Offline onboarding through specific registrations offers several advantages. Not only does it lead to more registered customers through rewards, but TritonX also gives you precise insights into where and when customers registered. A customer who signs up via a sports club requires a different approach than a customer who purchases a T-shirt in-store. You can then use these insights for your customer retention marketing efforts.
