Loyalty status levels are like the free sausage for the dog or the candy for the child at the butcher’s—encouraging the customer to come back. But it’s also a valuable tool for you as a business owner to gain insight into your customers. It’s a win-win situation: the customer feels valued, which builds further loyalty, and you gain a better understanding of how to allocate your marketing efforts. This can be done with loyalty status levels in TritonX.
How does it work?
In the TritonX dashboard, it is possible to create loyalty status levels. These could be levels like ‘Gold,’ ‘Silver,’ and ‘Bronze.’ With loyalty status levels, you divide your customers into groups based on their level of loyalty. You can define what is required for a customer to move to a higher level. For example, a customer who spends €200 per month would reach a bronze status, €400 would move them to silver, and €800 would earn them a gold status. This allows you to gain a clear overview of your top and promising customers and act accordingly.
The Benefits of Loyalty status levels explained
As described in the introduction, loyalty status levels help increase customer retention. These levels can form the basis of a loyalty program. For each level, you can offer unique privileges. The higher the level, the more privileges the customer receives, making it more attractive to them and encouraging repeat purchases. As a retailer, you also gain perfect tools to trigger your customer group into making repeat purchases. Ultimately, this loyalty program will increase your organization’s retention rate.
Possible Loyalty Status Levels
You can determine loyalty status levels in various ways. This can be based purely on revenue or on loyalty points. The beauty of loyalty points is that you can use them to encourage in-store purchases as well. For instance: “Earn 10 extra loyalty points this week when you buy a pair of jeans.”
You set the rules, and for each level, you define what needs to happen for a customer to rise or fall in the rankings. A customer will hold their status for a defined period (X), and their status will only be reduced if they fail to maintain sufficient revenue or points in the following period (Y). You can even set up alerts for customers who are at risk of losing their status.
The Module and extra modules
You don’t need additional modules to activate loyalty status levels, as this feature is part of the standard package in TritonX. However, if you want to offer unique privileges for each level, adding extra modules such as the ‘Coupon Module,’ ‘Personal Pricing,’ or ‘Event-Based Rewarding’ can add significant value. This transforms your loyalty program from basic to a more gamified or loyalty-based experience. You can get as creative as you like!
Examples of usage
To give you a good idea of the possibilities and the feeling behind loyalty status levels, here are some usage examples:
Loyalty Status Levels for internal use
Some retailers use loyalty status levels purely for their own insights. The levels act as a tool for marketing strategies or for recognizing top customers. You can easily create segments based on loyalty status levels. Additionally, the levels are visible at the checkout. The customer does not see this, but the cashier does, allowing staff to act accordingly. While the customer is unaware, the organization has more control over its customer base.
Loyalty Status Levels in combination with the Personal Pricing Module
A great combination is with Personal Pricing. This allows you to offer a specific group of customers a set percentage discount. For example, a ‘Bronze’ customer receives 5% off, ‘Silver’ gets 10%, and ‘Gold’ customers get 15%. This ensures that the customer always receives a benefit. You can set up pricing as you see fit. Loyalty status levels combined with Personal Pricing offer numerous possibilities.
Loyalty Status Levels in combination with the Coupon Module
If you want to control when and how often you give specific discounts, loyalty status levels in combination with the Coupon Module provide a solution. For example, consider a welcome gift. When a customer registers, they instantly receive a gift for their second purchase. You may also want to send a coupon for the customer’s birthday. You can choose to offer this gift only to top customers, which is now possible with loyalty status levels.
Loyalty Status Levels in combination with the Event-Based Rewarding Module
As the name suggests, the Event-Based Rewarding module offers rewards based on customer behavior. This, in combination with loyalty status levels, opens up fantastic possibilities! Event-Based Rewarding works in real-time. For example, when a customer registers, they instantly receive a welcome gift before they even reach the checkout. When a customer provides their email address, they are rewarded immediately. When they complete their profile, they earn extra points. The possibilities for rewarding are endless.

Loyalty Status Levels in the webshop
Did you know that the TritonX webshop can see which loyalty status level a customer has? This allows you to customize the account experience for each loyalty status level. The higher the level, the more options, greater gifts, and even a gold-themed webshop design can be offered. You can get as creative as you like. Be aware, though, that these actions are not configured within TritonX, and the webshop provider would need to implement these changes. Based on the loyalty status level, the webshop can tailor the experience.
These are just a few examples. By mixing and matching different modules with loyalty status levels, the possibilities are endless!
